Chemical Peels

A procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin will grow back smoother with reduced fine lines/wrinkles and more even pigmentation. They can be done at different depths and treat different areas of the body (most commonly the face). These can be done alone or combined with other procedures when indicated. Deeper chemical peels offer more dramatic results but take longer to heal.

We offer both cosmetic and medical grade chemical peels- from creating a new clean glow to correcting scarring and melasma. It is recommended for scarring and/or melasma treatment to do a series of 3 chemical peels 30 days apart.

Chemical Peels & Uses

We offer a few different options for chemical peels to suit the needs of our clients. We offer a BHA peel for acne/scarring, Glow Peel that can be mild to moderate treatment depth depending on treatment target and skin type offering a new fresh glow to your skin and minimal down time, and the perfect dermal peel that is great for treating all of the above as well as discoloration and melasma.

Contraindications

Clients with active infections or active autoimmune should hold off on chemical peels. Those with psoriasis, severe eczema, connective tissue disease, exposure to radiation or chemo, cancer, or recent facial or site surgery, pregnant or breastfeeding. Recent sun exposure, open wounds, allergies to peel ingredients. Client should not have taken Accutane within 6 months. Should not be using retinols a week before peel.

Side Effects

Inflammation, Redness, itching, sensitive skin, infection, scarring, skin discoloration, allergic reactions blisters, persistent erythema, sensitivity to light, skin tissue injury, burning pain, corneal damage, edema, peeling, sensitive skin.

It is important to disclose all medications client is taking, and full medical history. Follow post peel instructions carefully and avoid sun exposure-wearing SPF daily and reapplying every two hours if around sunlight.
